Lean hand diced cuts of beef with ox kidney, the epitome of comfort food!  Served as a pie, pudding or stew, what’s not to love about this meltingly tender mix, cooked long and slow.

A portion of 500g will serve 2-3; also available in 1kg for a larger pie.

  • As with all stews and casseroles, coat the meat with seasoned flour before browning, this will make a thick and tasty gravy.
  • If you want to give the kidneys a milder taste, soak them in milk for half an hour before cooking.
  • When making a pie, make sure to save some gravy to serve with it – if the pie is overfilled with the sauce it can make the pastry soggy, and nobody likes a soggy bottom!
