Spare Rib Pork Roast


Our roasted spare rib of pork has an excellent flavour and also produces fantastic crackling.

This cut of pork can be cooked in lots of great ways. It can be grilled, slow-cooked in a barbecue spice rub for a delicious pulled pork or smoked until it falls off the bone.

The pork spare ribs come in two different sizes; 1.25-1.5kg or 2.0-2.5kg.

  • An excellent but simple rubbing paste for this cut of pork is rosemary, fresh crushed black pepper and crushed sea salt.
  • The roast spare rib pork is excellent for making pulled pork. For the best pulled pork cook for at least 5 hours, or until the meat starts to fall about. Before cooking rub salt, paprika, cumin, onion salt and brown sugar evenly over the meat.
  • By cooking the pork at a low temperature, it allows time for the meat to tenderise and for the fat to slowly dissolve. This helps to enrich the flavour of the already succulent meat.
