Diced Beef

2-3 Servings per 500g


Lean hand-diced beef from choice forequarter cuts.  Ideal for comforting stews and pies, or for something different, why not cook with an Asian twist.

A 500g portion will serve 2-3 or 1kg will feed a larger family.

  • Whizz a lot of garlic, a piece of root ginger, and a couple of onions with some chilli flakes in a blender.  Brown the beef with coconut oil, then pop in a casserole; fry the garlic and onion mix in a bit more coconut oil, stirring continuously then add to the casserole dish.  Stir in a can of coconut milk, 3 tablespoons of soy sauce and half a teaspoon of cinnamon.  Cook with low to medium heat for 2-3 hours for an amazing beef rendang – serve with fragrant rice.
  • Serve your stew with crusty bread, dumplings or mashed potato for a traditional meal.
  • To add variety to your stew, cook with turnip, sweet potatoes, swede, green beans, parsnips or even kale (love it or hate it!).  Add beer, wine or a spoon of horseradish instead of stock for a change.
